Dragons

JHCadminAras 7 Races

Appearance | Adult Dragon sizes run from five feet to twenty feet high at the shoulder when they are standing and twelve feet to a hundred feet long from nose tip to tail tip. They are usually a combination of two colors. For example, the body is navy blue, and the horns/spikes, talons, belly, and bottoms of the wings are peach. They are covered in a mixture of scales and plates. Those who commune with Eímai and ingest His fruit and water regularly need not worry about thin armor for Eímai strengthens their armor to the point that it deflects most weapons. Dragons have silver blood.

Location | There are two groups, Eastern and Western Dragons. Eímai gave the Western Dragons weirs in the Rogue Mountains and floating mountains in Siana and Jes Provinces. The Eastern Dragons received weirs in the Srol Mountains and the floating mountains in Emer and Citali Provinces.

Rearing Young | While in their eggs dragonlings hear Eímai’s song, and He gives them their name. Dragon eggs are kept in hatcheries with Drás eggs and these are warmed by geothermal heat rising from vents in the stone floor. Once hatched, dragonlings are cared for by their sires and the sires teach them everything they need to know. The Age of Reckoning for a Dragon is 1,100 years and upon reaching this age they leave the care of their sites and enter into military service. Dragons keep on communication with their sites and often seek their counsel. They honor their sires, introducing themselves as the offspring of their parents. For example, Lady Achima, offspring of Lord Lysander and Lady Lita.

Lifespan | The average lifespan without regularly drinking Eímai’s water and eating His fruit is 5,000 years. The longest living Dragon was Vasileios who lived 13,942 years. He was the fifteenth king of the second age and he ruled for 8,456 years. He was beloved by most of the country and it was believed he would live forever because he communed with Eímai so much and daily ingested vast amounts of His fruit and water. It became a common saying that when Eímai breathed out, Vasileios breathed in. But on the fifth day of summer Eímai took him to His Rest. He was the only king of Aras to have such a long reign.

Governance | They are governed by a Lord and Lady, a mated pair who lead their regional Dragons all their life. The Lord and Lady of each group has a council of elders consisting of six members. The council members are the oldest and wisest, usually

Attributes/Special Abilities | All Dragons breathe fire and fly. Only one dragon in the history of Aras breathed something other than fire. Dragons are able to see the light or darkness inside those they see. However, Ba’rel taught his servants how to hide the darkness inside them in order to be effective deceivers. However, Dragons who regularly commune with Eímai are able to see past the deception to see them for what they are.

Notable Tradition | Dragons whose offspring or clutch-mates submitted themselves to Ba’rel are not required to train El’esh due to conflict of interests. Since El’esh focus solely on destroying the Legion, they are not required to train the possible killer of their loved one. If they taught the El’esh false information, it would endanger innocent lives.
