Recently graduated Dr. Michael Jenkins hoped to spend his summer readjusting to life in the States and rebuild his relationship with his seventeen-year-old sister Cassandra. But she dreads his return home after five years studying in Israel and wants to enjoy her summer before heading to Princeton to study international politics. But their plans changed when Eímai, the Lord of Light and Life, transported them to the country of Aras. He called Michael to be an El’esh, a flaming knight who wields tremendous power. He called Cassandra to be Speaker of Reconciliation to unify the seven races of Aras before the evil dragon Ba’rel’s Legion destroyed them all. To make matters more complicated, Eimai’s power flowed through her in the form of golden lightning.

Eímai assigned the Vidarr white tiger Captain Ragnar and Lady Achima, a purple and silver Dragon with icy breath, to train the siblings. Along the way they learned of Speaker Savelis’ two-thousand-year-old prophecy foretelling the coming of Fire and Lightning. This powerful duo would defeat Ba’rel, unify the country, and set the prisoners free. Taras, a fallen El’esh and Captain Ragnar’s great-grandsire, and the Severed Drás Sage Lusare will do whatever it takes to prevent them from fulfilling the prophecy.
